Tourism Minister Highlights Egypt’s Stability as a Key Driver for Tourism Growth

Cairo: Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy emphasized that Egypt's stability and security are vital factors in enhancing the confidence of the global tourism market and increasing inbound arrivals. He attributed this stability to the efforts of the country's leadership in managing regional and international challenges.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Fathy made these remarks at the annual Ramadan Suhoor hosted by the Egyptian Federation of Chambers of Tourism. The event was attended by prominent figures, including Civil Aviation Minister Sameh El-Hefny, Labor Minister Hassan Raddad, and Parliament's Tourism Committee Chair Sahar Talaat Moustafa.

The minister noted the positive growth in tourist arrivals compared to the previous year, despite a slight slowdown in April bookings due to regional tensions, emphasizing that Egypt remains a safe destination, geographically distant from conflicts. He highlighted the importance of the private sector as a strategic partner and mentioned that the ministry is refining its marketing strategies based on real-time booking patterns to sustain tourism growth.

Fathy also pointed out Egypt's diverse offerings, such as ecotourism and conference tourism, and ongoing efforts to expand hotel capacity to meet future demand. Federation head Hossam El-Shaer supported these statements, noting that Egypt's reputation as an oasis of security continues to bolster international visitor confidence.
