Riyadh: Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy met with members of the Diving and Marine Activities Chamber in Sharm El-Sheikh as part of his current visit to the city. This engagement is within the framework of the ministry's effort to maintain direct communication with tourism sector stakeholders to support and develop specialized tourism activities.
According to State Information Service Egypt, during the meeting, the minister listened to the chamber members' views and proposals on ways to enhance diving activities in Sharm El-Sheikh. This initiative aims to further strengthen Egypt's position as a leading global destination for diving tourism. The discussions also included a review of the key challenges facing the sector and explored mechanisms to address them to ensure sustainability.
Fathy emphasized the importance of activating the role of the Egyptian Tourism Federation and its affiliated chambers in regulating work within the tourism sector. He highlighted the need for enhanced coordination among chambers concerned with activities related to diving through regular coordination meetings. These discussions are intended to address existing challenges and develop practical and swift solutions.
The minister noted that such coordination would aid in improving the business environment and support the growth of specialized tourism activities. He stressed the importance of providing the ministry with the outcomes of these meetings. Fathy also underlined the necessity for each chamber to adhere to its roles and responsibilities to ensure integration within the sector and serve the interests of Egypt's tourism industry.
