The Cabinet Mourns Passing of Fahmy Omar, Pioneering Egyptian Radio Figure

Cairo: The Cabinet, chaired by Dr Mustafa Madbouly, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Fahmy Omar, the esteemed former head of Egyptian Radio, known as "the dean of broadcasters." Omar passed away today, leaving behind a legacy marked by significant contributions to Egyptian Radio.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Dr Mustafa Madbouly extended heartfelt condolences to Omar's family and the broader Egyptian media community. He acknowledged Omar's extensive career, which spanned over fifty years and was characterized by his dedication to advancing national radio.

The Prime Minister highlighted Omar's status as a foundational figure in Egyptian Radio, noting his influential role during the July 1952 Revolution and his efforts in establishing professional standards within the industry. Dr Madbouly praised Omar's mentorship of numerous generations of broadcasters and expressed prayers for Omar's forgiveness and comfort for his family during this difficult time.
