Cairo: Minister of State for Military Production Salah Suleiman Gamblat stated on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, that his ministry is channeling surplus production capacities towards civilian projects.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Gamblat emphasized the necessity of regular machinery inspections and timely maintenance to ensure seamless and efficient production. These remarks were made during a meeting with senior ministry officials, the National Authority for Military Production leaders, and chairpersons of affiliated companies to discuss the latest advancements in military manufacturing at the ministry's factories. The meeting took place at the ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
Gamblat reviewed the progress of production plans for several projects, including the K9 A1 EGY howitzer system and the production of ammunition in various calibers, which have experienced considerable growth in recent months. He highlighted the importance of adhering to scheduled timelines and standard specifications, emphasizing the ministry's crucial role in fulfilling the needs of the armed forces.
The minister also monitored efforts by military production companies to enhance existing defense industries and introduce new military products. These companies are working on localizing advanced manufacturing technologies through the application of artificial intelligence, aligning with directives from the political leadership.
