Solidarity Min. Intensifies Nighttime Campaigns to Rescue Homeless Citizens

Cairo: Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsi has directed the Central Rapid Intervention Team to intensify nighttime campaigns to swiftly respond to homelessness reports, ensuring no individual remains on the streets.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Rapid Intervention Team conducted a large-scale campaign after midnight in the Heliopolis area. This initiative resulted in addressing the situation of three elderly homeless individuals found sleeping under a bridge. The team provided on-site assistance to these individuals at the time of discovery.

The homeless individuals were successfully persuaded by the Rapid Intervention Team to accept care in social welfare institutions. This decision provides them with a secure environment that guarantees a dignified life. They were immediately transferred to the “Hayat for Homeless Adults” complex, where they will receive comprehensive health and social care.

The Ministry of Social Solidarity has reaffirmed its commitment to a continuous and rapid response around the clock. The Rapid Intervention Teams are equipped to receive reports through the hotline 16439, the Unified Government Complaints System (under the auspices of the Cabinet) 16528, as well as through media outlets and social media platforms.
