Sisi Attends “Land of Peace” Ceremony at NAC


Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi attended the “Land of Peace” ceremony at the City of Arts and Culture in the New Administrative Capital.



According to State Information Service Egypt, Sheikh Ahmed Tamim Al-Maraghi commenced the event with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by President Sisi greeting all attendees. The President viewed a documentary titled “Land of Peace,” where writer Osama Al-Dalil described peace as a rare and valuable entity, emphasizing Egypt’s capacity to enforce it.



Writer Hind Al-Dawwi recounted Egypt’s decision to wage war on October 6, 1973, to reclaim its territories, clarifying that sustaining war was never the objective. She asserted the necessity of power for peace enforcement. President Sisi also observed a theatrical performance illustrating the army’s critical role in national defense.



Actress and producer Esaad Younis expressed gratitude to President Sisi for his contributions to peace and stability in Egypt and the region, praising his efforts in maintaining peace, security, and stability. She acknowledged the outcomes of the President’s recent visit to Belgium, extending gratitude on behalf of Egyptians for his leadership.



During the event, a documentary highlighted the Egyptian army’s historical role in border protection and the achievements of late President Mohamed Anwar El-Sadat in the 1973 war and subsequent peace endeavors. Another documentary featured archeologist Zahi Hawass discussing Egypt’s historical commitment to peace, referencing the first peace treaty signed by Ramses II.



Renowned cardiac surgeon Prof. Sir Magdi Yacoub and Pope Tawadros II also emphasized Egypt’s long-standing dedication to peace. Pope Tawadros II referenced Egypt’s historical role as a sanctuary, mentioning the Sharm El Sheikh Peace Agreement to end the conflict in Gaza.



A documentary by Actor Mohamed Sallam showcased the heroism of Sinai’s people, including Mrs. Widad Khalil, who bravely delivered secret messages during conflicts. Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Sheikh Ahmed el Tayyeb reiterated Al-Azhar’s support for President Sisi, emphasizing Egypt’s steadfast support for Palestinian rights and advocating for national unity and sustainable development.



Another documentary, “Egypt…The Road Back,” depicted the plight of a Palestinian family fleeing Gaza. A young Palestinian girl shared her harrowing experience during a bombing and expressed gratitude to President Sisi for his support. President Sisi met her, providing a heartfelt moment of solidarity.



Concluding the ceremony, Esaad Younis reaffirmed Egypt’s responsible stance on regional issues, particularly the Palestinian cause, and lauded President Sisi’s efforts toward peace in Gaza, culminating in a peace agreement at the Sharm El Sheikh Peace Summit. President Sisi extended his appreciation to all Egyptians and participants at the event.
