Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi today participated in a significant ceremony as part of Egypt’s and the Armed Forces’ celebrations marking the 52nd anniversary of the October 6th Victories. The President paid his respects by laying a wreath on the Memorial of the Armed Forces’ Martyrs and at the tomb of the late President Anwar El-Sadat in Nasr City.
According to State Information Service Egypt, upon his arrival at the memorial, President El-Sisi was welcomed by key military leaders, including the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Minister of Defense and Military Production, General Abdel Mageed Saqr, and Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa. The event was attended by commanders of the main branches of the Armed Forces and the Commander of the Central Military Region.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, spokesman for the Presidency, reported that the President laid a wreath on the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, as a military band played the “Martyr’s Salute” in a poignant tribute to Egypt’s martyrs. The ceremony underscored the nation’s loyalty and appreciation for the sacrifices made by its heroes. Following this, President El-Sisi greeted several veteran commanders from the October War.
The President also honored the memory of late President Mohamed Anwar El-Sadat by laying a wreath at his tomb and meeting with his family members, military commanders, and senior officials.
Later in the day, President El-Sisi visited the mausoleum of late President Gamal Abdel Nasser. Accompanied by General Abdel Mageed Saqr, he was received by members of Nasser’s family. There, President El-Sisi laid a wreath and greeted the late President’s family, paying homage to another of Egypt’s revered leaders.
