Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli attended the launch ceremony of the Startups and Entrepreneurship Charter. The ceremony was also graced by Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania el Mashat, who heads the Ministerial Group for Entrepreneurship, along with members of the group and several senior officials.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the Startups Charter represents a comprehensive national framework that, for the first time, establishes an institutionalized model for collaboration between the government and the entrepreneurship ecosystem. This charter introduces clear policies and unified executive procedures aimed at removing obstacles that startups face at various stages of growth, ranging from establishment to regional and international expansion.
The charter is considered a practical roadmap to harmonize the efforts of concerned government entities and present a unified vision to enhance confidence among investors and entrepreneurs in Egypt's investment environment. It comprises a broad package of over 80 executive measures intended to improve the business environment for startups by simplifying government procedures, increasing transparency, and coordinating roles among relevant entities, thus ensuring clear regulatory pathways for entrepreneurs.
Furthermore, the charter aims to establish a unified definition of startups, aiding in identifying entities eligible for incentives and facilitations, while minimizing discrepancies in standards applied by different institutions.
