PM Reviews Ways to Boost Cooperation with African Countries

Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli affirmed that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has issued clear directives to advance frameworks of cooperation with African countries, in a way that consolidates historical ties and serves the mutual interests of the peoples of the continent. Madbouli's remarks came during a meeting he chaired to discuss means of enhancing cooperation with African nations across various sectors.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting was attended by key government ministers including Kamel El Wazir, Badr Abdelatty, Sameh El Hefny, Alaa Farouk, Mohamed Farid, and Khaled Hashem, alongside other officials from relevant ministries and bodies. The discussions focused on joint projects with African countries and encouraging Egyptian investors to expand their investments across the continent.

Foreign Minister Abdelatty highlighted Egypt's influential presence in Africa and emphasized the need for closer coordination among state institutions to broaden cooperation, particularly in the economic sphere. He suggested the establishment of a national investment entity to unify Egyptian investment efforts in African markets, focusing on sectors such as agriculture, mining, and industry.

Transport Minister Wazir presented logistics connectivity projects and strategies to empower Egyptian construction companies and manufacturers through regional connectivity projects. He outlined plans for land and maritime connectivity, including upgrading roads and launching new maritime routes to strengthen links with African countries.

Madbouli tasked officials with preparing a clear action plan to activate and expand cooperation frameworks with African countries, underscoring the strategic importance of African markets and Egypt's commitment to building effective partnerships on the continent.
