PM Reviews Progress on Urban Development Fund Projects


Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli held a meeting with Chairman of the Urban Development Fund (UDF) Khaled Siddiq to follow up on the progress rate of the fund’s projects.



According to State Information Service Egypt, Siddiq briefed Madbouli on ongoing development works, including the restoration of the external facades of the Mosque of Al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah. The UDF Head highlighted progress on a project to revive Historic Cairo, which includes constructing 15 residential buildings with 600 housing units and three buildings for female breadwinners. Additionally, the project involves 798 craft workshops, a school for traditional handicrafts, five wholesale markets, a restaurant zone, and a multi-story car park near Cairo’s northern wall. The restaurant area will feature 1,400 square meters of terraces and 2,000 square meters per floor allocated to restaurants, while the repeated floors of the car park will cover around 6,500 square meters, accommodating up to 1,000 vehicles.



In the same context, Seddik addressed the status of fa§ade development for buildings on Al-Banhawi Street in Cairo, the upgrading of entry and exit gates to Al-Hussein Mosque Square, and the renovation of fa§ades at Al-Hussein University Hospital. The meeting also reviewed unused land and buildings along the Nile Corniche in Cairo and Giza governorates, alongside proposed development and investment projects for these areas.



Seddik also presented updates on sales for the “Daraha” project in governorate capitals and major cities, as well as the “Fustat View” project, noting that total units sold have reached 5,223.
