Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli visited Benha National University in al Obour City as part of his tour in Qalyubia governorate to inspect ongoing development projects. During his tour, Madbouli said that the government is committed to modernizing higher education, especially through the national university system, which aims to offer high-quality academic programs with advanced facilities.
According to State Information Service Egypt, he stressed that these institutions are designed to provide students with skills aligned to global standards and evolving labor market needs. The PM toured several university buildings, including engineering labs, dental simulation centers, and lecture halls. He spoke with students about their learning experience and future goals, and viewed robotic models designed by engineering students for industrial and civil defense applications.
For their part, the University officials explained that Benha National University currently includes nine faculties and offers 26 academi
c programs based on global standards. They added that the university currently has about 8,500 students and aims to accommodate up to 15,000. The PM suggested adding a new specialization in jewelry and gold manufacturing, in coordination with Egypt Gold School graduates, and asked the Higher Education Minister to study the proposal.
Madbouli also attended an art exhibition by students and met with faculty and university leadership, who outlined plans to integrate digital education, research cooperation, and industry training into academic life.
