PM Madbouli Returns After Representing Egypt at Peace Meeting in Washington

Cairo: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli returned home on Friday, following his participation, on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, in the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace meeting in Washington.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouli, in his official address before the meeting, expressed Egypt's strong support for the vision aimed at ushering in a "new era of peace and coexistence" in the region. He reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to working within this international framework to devise sustainable solutions that will resolve regional conflicts, with the Palestinian cause being of paramount importance.

Madbouli emphasized Egypt's steadfast principles, grounded in legitimate rights and international law. He underscored Egypt's unwavering stance in prioritizing the provision of humanitarian and relief assistance, reiterating the categorical rejection of any attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians or annex the West Bank.

Furthermore, Madbouli stressed that lasting peace can only be achieved through a clear political process. This process, he stated, should lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, alongside the activation of the reconstruction plans pledged by the members of the board.
