Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said that Egypt has successfully reached an agreement for a ceasefire in Gaza to put an end to the suffering of the Palestinian people. He also hailed President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s great efforts throughout the process and thanked him for guiding the diplomatic efforts. During a press conference in Qalyubia, Madbouli reaffirmed Egypt’s position from the beginning of the crisis.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouli stated that Egypt has remained committed to the Palestinian cause and will not accept any attempt to eliminate it or force the displacement of its people, regardless of external pressure. The Premier also stated that Egypt led negotiations with various countries and institutions to stop the violence and restore stability.
Madbouly mentioned that the US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff praised Egypt’s contribution to the ceasefire. He expects the agreement to be formally signed within two days. He also thanked the US administration and regional partners, including Qatar and Turkey, for their cooperation.
Madbouli acknowledged the efforts of Egyptian security institutions, which have worked continuously over the past two years to support mediation and deliver humanitarian assistance. In conclusion, the Prime Minister emphasized that the ceasefire agreement marks a significant step toward ending violence and restoring peace in Gaza.
