Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli announced that the government is actively engaged in completing the initial phase of the “Haya Karima” presidential initiative. The government is focused on securing the necessary funding to finalize the outstanding projects within this phase. Madbouli made these remarks during a meeting on Thursday, December 25, 2025, which aimed to evaluate the progress of projects under the first phase of the initiative.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting included the presence of key ministers from the departments of Planning and Economic Cooperation, Communications and Information Technology, Housing, Finance, and Petroleum. Representatives from the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, the Dar Al-Hekma Engineering Consultancy Company, and officials from relevant ministries and agencies also attended. Madbouli emphasized his commitment to conducting regular field visits to the targeted villages, assessing the implementation status, and monitoring the operation of completed projects to ensure that they provide direct benefits to the local communities.

Madbouli pointed out that the initiative has already significantly improved services and the quality of life in the targeted villages during the first phase. He also mentioned that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has instructed the rapid completion of this phase to facilitate the immediate commencement of the second phase, which aims to extend the initiative’s services to all villages across Egypt.

Cabinet Spokesman Mohamed el Homsani reported that the meeting reviewed the detailed status of projects implemented under the first phase of the “Haya Karima” national rural development program. The discussion covered projects across different sectors in each governorate, those still under implementation, and the status of completed projects that are now operational. The spokesman added that 75% of the completed projects have been handed over by the contracting companies, with the remaining projects being delivered in phases to ensure swift operation and service delivery.
