Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli reviewed the availability of strategic commodities during a meeting held in line with directives from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to secure sufficient reserves and meet citizens' needs. The meeting, attended by ministers of supply, petroleum, finance officials, and representatives of the Central Bank and the Suez Canal Authority, examined stock levels of essential food commodities and petroleum products.According to State Information Service Egypt, the officials confirmed that reserves are at safe levels and that plans are in place to maintain steady supplies in markets, particularly ahead of Ramadan. The meeting also addressed fuel and natural gas availability, with assurances that domestic needs are being secured through local production, imports, and infrastructure readiness. The Central Bank's role in ensuring the financial resources necessary for securing imports was also reviewed.For his part, Madbouli called for continued market monitoring to maintain suppl y stability, prevent unjustified price increases, and address monopolistic practices. Meanwhile, the supply minister said that adequate reserves of staple goods, including sugar, oil, pasta, and rice, are being maintained with daily follow-up across governorates.
