Planning Min.: Entrepreneurship ‘Key Gov’t Priority’ to Turn Innovation into Jobs

Cairo: Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostom emphasized that entrepreneurship is a top priority for the ministry, acting as a crucial driver of innovation and economic growth. This initiative aims to transform innovative ideas into tangible job opportunities, thereby enhancing income levels and the quality of life.

According to State Information Service Egypt, during a meeting with Amr El-Abd, the Prime Minister's advisor for entrepreneurship, and officials from the "ERADA" initiative and the Egypt Center for Entrepreneurship, Rostom discussed the importance of coordinating government policies to support startups and boost their competitiveness. He underscored the roles of NI Capital in providing financial support and ERADA in streamlining legislative frameworks to ensure sustainable funding and growth.

Rostom stated that Egypt currently attracts approximately $400 million in annual entrepreneurship investments. However, he stressed that this figure does not fully represent the country's potential. He called for a unified institutional approach to maximize investment and elevate the local market's global appeal to further stimulate economic growth.
