Planning and Education Ministers Discuss Future Investment in Egyptian Schools

Cairo: Planning Minister Ahmed Rostom and Education Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif convened to examine the investment plan for the education sector for the 2026/2027 fiscal year. The meeting aimed to bolster collaboration between the ministries and support national efforts to enhance education.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the ministers emphasized the priority of education. They reviewed the investment plan's projects and underscored the necessity of inter-ministerial coordination to achieve sustainable development. The role of education in building human capacity, crucial for national growth, was highlighted.

The discussions included providing tablets to technical education students, expanding public and Japanese schools, developing technical schools, and increasing the number of applied technology schools. Maintenance support for schools was also addressed.

Both ministers agreed on the importance of continued joint coordination for effective project implementation, with the overarching goal of improving the quality of education services for citizens.

Minister Abdel Latif noted that the ministry adheres to a strategic plan aligned with Egypt's Vision 2030, aiming to enhance education quality and prepare generations for rapid changes in knowledge and technology.

Minister Rostom stated that the government will persist in increasing investments in education, with a focus on building new schools, reducing class sizes, and supporting digital transformation initiatives.
