President Sisi arrives to attend higher education forum

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived on Wednesday at the New Administrative Capital to attend the inauguration of the Global Forum for Higher Education and Scientific Research and the ISESCO general conference.

 

The president was received upon arrival by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Ghaffar and other senior State officials.

Egypt receives mobile clinics as gift from US

Egypt has received a number of mobile clinics as a gift from the US to help curb the spread of coronavirus.

 

The move comes as part of the distinguished relations between Cairo and Washington as the US has been keen on supporting a number of friendly countries to mitigate the impact of the pandemic.

 

During a ceremony to deliver two mobile clinics to Egypt, the director of Medical Services Department of the Egyptian Armed Forces asserted Cairo’s keenness on supporting cooperation with the US in all fields, extending thanks to the US government for its standing by the side of Egypt in the face of such human catastrophe.

 

The two clinics will join the Medical Services Department of the Armed Forces and will help the medical sector in Egypt.

 

Egypt had sent medical convoys including medicine and pharmaceutical supplies to the US during the climax of the coronavirus waves.

 

A number of Armed Forces commanders attended the ceremony.

UN coordinator lauds presidential Decent Life initiative

UN Resident Coordinator Elena Panova has stressed that the United Nations works closely with the Egyptian government, represented in the Ministry of International Cooperation, on taking future steps to contribute to implementing the presidential “Decent Life” initiative.

 

Panova and Minister of International Cooperation Rania Mashat on Tuesday 7/12/2021chaired a meeting of the United Nations Partnership Development Framework (UNPDF) with the participation of more than 75 representatives of UN agencies and organizations and respective ministries and authorities, among others.

 

The resident coordinator noted that the UN also works with the government through organizing field visits for the beneficiaries of the initiative, holding regular meetings with parties concerned to probe possible channels of cooperation and holding consultations on the integrated method of strategic partnership under this initiative.

 

Panova praised partnership with the Egyptian government to push forward the state development strategy, particularly this presidential initiative, to achieve the goals of the 2030 agenda on sustainable development.

 

The meeting also addressed means to promote partnerships between the UN and the government to serve the goals of sustainable development and the Decent Life initiative.

 

Mashat underscored the importance of that strategic partnership, that has lasted for decades covering different domains.

Sisi tours exhibition of higher education forum

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi inspected Wednesday the exhibition held on the sidelines of the Global Forum for Higher Education and Scientific Research in the New Administrative Capital.

 

 

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Ghaffar presented a detailed explanation about four new universities including King Salman International University, New Mansoura University, Galala University and AlAlamein International University.

Sisi attends global higher education forum

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi attends on Wednesday in the New Administrative Capital the Global Forum for Higher Education and Scientific Research and the ISESCO general conference, said Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi.

 

 

The spokesman added that the forum’s second session will be held under the auspices of president Sisi while Egypt is also hosting the 14th session of the ISESCO general conference.

 

 

A number of prominent Islamic figures from international universities and organizations are taking part in the event, he pointed out.

 

 

The forum takes up many files including the needs of local and international labor markets in light of the coronavirus pandemic and the recent developments of the skills needed for the labor market, added the spokesman.

Egypt reports 871 new coronavirus cases, 43 fatalities

The Health Ministry said on Monday night  6/12/2021that 871 new coronavirus cases were detected in Egypt over the past 24 hours, upping the total number of infections to 364,033.

Health Ministry spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said 43 patients died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 20,770.

As many as 951 patients were discharged from hospitals after receiving medical care, taking the number of recoveries to 302,259, it added.
