NCW Launches Ramadan Activities to Empower Women and Families Across Egypt

Cairo: The National Council for Women (NCW) launches on Wednesday February 18, 2026 a comprehensive package of events and activities on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan as part of the national project for the Development of Egyptian Family implemented under the umbrella of Presidential Initiative 'Decent Life'. The move aims to support the economic, social and awareness-based empowerment of women and Egyptian families across various governorates.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the implementation of these activities during the holy month underscores the Council's commitment to leveraging the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan to reinforce the values of solidarity and social cohesion, and empowering women positively, while raising families' awareness of priority societal issues. The activities include implementing the 'Masriya Kitchen' program, organizing Ramadan evenings, and hosting community circle sessions to spread social awareness messages.

They also cover financial inclusion and literacy initiatives, issuing national ID cards for eligible women, as well as providing family counseling and balanced upbringing sessions to promote the stability of Egyptian families. The activities also include conducting vocational training workshops at the Council's facilities across the governorates and launching entrepreneurship programs aimed at supporting women's economic empowerment.
