Muslim Council of Elders Extends Eidul-Fitr Greetings to Arab and Islamic Nations

Cairo: The Muslim Council of Elders, chaired by Grand Imam Ahmed El-Tayyeb, extended its greetings to the Arab and Islamic nations and peoples worldwide on the occasion of Eidul-Fitr, praying to Allah to bring it back upon all with goodness, prosperity, and blessings.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the council issued a statement on Thursday, March 19, 2026, noting that the holiday comes this year amid exceptional circumstances and mounting challenges facing the region and the world. The council urged drawing on the noble values of the blessed occasion to promote peace, reinforce the principles of mercy and tolerance, respect the rights of neighbors, and bring an end to wars and conflicts.

The council also called for elevating the voice of wisdom, advancing dialogue, and working toward a more secure, stable, and just world based on mutual respect and the preservation of human dignity. Furthermore, the council prayed to Almighty God to safeguard nations, grant people worldwide security, safety, and peace, and make this Eid an opportunity to strengthen the values of goodness, love, and solidarity among all humanity.
