Minister of State for Information Welcomes Turki Al Al-Sheikh, Advisor to the Saudi Royal Court

Cairo: Journalist Diaa Rashwan, Minister of State for Information, received on Sunday, February 22, 2026, Minister Turki Al Al-Sheikh, Advisor at the Royal Court of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, who arrived in Cairo at the beginning of a several-day visit to Egypt.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Minister Diaa Rashwan welcomed the distinguished Saudi guest, underscoring the depth of the historic ties between the two countries and their brotherly peoples in Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He noted that these ties are embodied in the fraternal relationship between the leaders of the two nations: His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic; his brother, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz; and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Prime Minister. He emphasized that Egyptian-Saudi relations represent a well-established model of Arab integration and strategic partnership, founded on unity of destiny and alignment of interests, and supported by a long history of coordination and solidarity in confronting all challenges that threaten Arab national security.

The Minister of State for Information affirmed that the visit of His Excellency Turki Al Al-Sheikh comes within the framework of ongoing communication between officials of both countries, aimed at expanding cooperation and joint action across all fields and exchanging views on matters that further strengthen Egyptian-Saudi relations. He pointed out that the substance and timing of the visit send a clear message: relations between the two countries at all levels-including cultural and media spheres-are stronger, more stable, and more deeply rooted than any desperate attempts to undermine or distort them, whether driven by intent or misinformation.

Minister Rashwan added that the historic Egyptian-Saudi relationship constitutes a cornerstone for stability and security in the Arab region and for defending the causes and interests of the Arab nation, particularly amid the global and regional transformations currently underway. This, he said, places upon all of us-each in our respective roles-the responsibility to safeguard and reinforce these ties, work toward their continued development, and confront decisively and collectively any efforts to disrupt or damage them.

For his part, His Excellency Advisor Turki Al Al-Sheikh expressed his great pleasure at being in Egypt, especially during the unique spiritual atmosphere of the holy month of Ramadan in beloved Egypt.

The Saudi minister affirmed that Egypt and its leader, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, are held in high esteem by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He added that Egypt and its people occupy a special place in the heart of every Saudi citizen.

Regarding the program of his visit, Advisor Turki Al Al-Sheikh indicated that, in addition to its political dimension, he is scheduled to meet with a number of officials responsible for culture, media, and the arts, as well as prominent Egyptian figures in these fields. The aim is to explore broader horizons for cooperation and to elevate Egyptian-Saudi joint efforts to a level commensurate with the deep historical bonds uniting the two countries and their leaderships.

He stated that his presence among his brothers in Egypt serves as further proof refuting the baseless claims that some deliberately circulate from time to time on social media. He stressed the importance of working together not only to put an end to such rumors, but also to ensure that the media-through all its traditional and modern digital platforms-serves as a tool for fostering greater closeness, goodwill, and fraternity between the two brotherly peoples.

The Chairman of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority concluded by affirming that there is one Arab culture, expressed in a single Arabic language, to which every Arab nation has contributed in diverse ways, reflecting each people's unique literary, artistic, and historical characteristics. He emphasized that Egypt's role and contributions across all aspects of culture and the arts in the Arab world have long constituted-and continue to constitute-the largest share in shaping the culture and collective consciousness of the Arab nation across successive generations. He noted that Egyptian-Saudi cooperation today forms the foundation for leading the comprehensive Arab cultural renaissance to which all aspire.
