Cairo: Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly met today with Mr. Mohamed Amer, Executive Vice President of the Vatican-based company Scatec, to discuss the company's operations, implementation status in Egypt, and future plans. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the Prime Minister began the meeting by reaffirming the state's commitment to providing an attractive environment for international companies, thereby increasing foreign investment, particularly in promising sectors such as energy. This initiative aims to capitalize on Egypt's existing resources and potential in the energy field.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for Scatec's cooperation in several energy sectors, including seawater desalination and green hydrogen projects. He commended Scatec's efforts, emphasizing its contribution to supporting this partnership, in light of Egypt's focus on the energy sector and efforts to diversify its economy.
Mr. Mohamed Amer discussed the company's progress on projects in the new energy sector and electricity storage systems in Egypt. He affirmed Scatec's commitment to strengthening its presence in the Egyptian market and increasing its investments in the coming period.
The meeting also included discussions with the Vice President of Scatec Norway for the Middle East regarding the company's expansion in the fiber optics sector within the energy domain, as well as studies and recommendations related to seawater desalination projects.
