Cairo: Minister of Local Development and Environment Manal Awad convened a meeting with Hatem Nabil, the head of the Central Agency for Organization and Administration (CAOA), to review and finalize the ministry's proposed organizational structure. This meeting took place on Monday, March 16, 2026, and was attended by key officials including the head of the Environmental Affairs Agency, ministerial aides, advisers, and a technical support team.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussion centered on the final proposal of the organizational structure, following a recent cabinet reshuffle that merged the ministries of local development and environment. The review aimed to align the new structure with the ministry's strategic vision, ensuring an efficient and effective workflow.

Officials examined the proposed responsibilities for both existing and new divisions, engaging in two weeks of consultations to ensure the structure supports operational efficiency. The focus was on integrating responsibilities related to environmental sectors and local development projects across the governorates, reflecting the new mandates from the cabinet reshuffle.

Both parties reached an agreement on the updated organizational structure, which is designed to enhance work efficiency and accommodate new or amended responsibilities. The new structure aims to better support environmental and local development initiatives, ensuring a cohesive approach to the ministry's expanded role.
