Cairo: Minister of Labor Mohamed Gobran has extended an invitation to business organizations and investors to participate in the “Smart Inspection” initiative. This modern effort aims to create a decent and stable work environment while fostering a partnership between the state and the private sector. The initiative allows companies to apply for participation through the Ministry’s office or the labor directorates in the governorates.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the initiative requires companies to adhere to several key provisions, including the implementation of minimum wage laws as per the relevant regulations, aligning employment contracts according to the conditions outlined by the law, and adhering to procedures for granting work permits to foreign workers. Additionally, companies must meet occupational safety and health requirements to ensure worker protection and sustainability within the workplace.
Minister Gobran emphasized that businesses complying with the initiative will receive various incentives, including an official compliance certificate from the Ministry of Labor, and classification under the “Green Label” list. These companies will also benefit from an exemption from regular inspections for a year, provided they continue their compliance.
The Ministry plans to promote these companies as successful models for adherence to labor laws and contribution to a decent work environment, aligning with international labor standards. This initiative is expected to enhance the investment climate and achieve stability in the labor market.
