Cairo: Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Randa El Menshawy conducted her first field tour since assuming office, inspecting housing units being built under the presidential 'Housing for All Egyptians' initiative in Hadayek Al Assema, Cairo, to follow up on implementation progress, quality of finishing, and ongoing utilities work. The minister was accompanied by Deputy Minister for Urban Communities Walid Abbas, Deputy Minister for Utilities Ahmed Omran, senior ministry officials, representatives of the New Urban Communities Authority, and the head of the city authority.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the Minister said the project is a key state initiative to provide sufficient housing for low- and middle-income residents, emphasizing the importance of meeting deadlines and quickly delivering units, especially those under the 14th offering. She pointed out that the visit focused on the largest site with units in that phase to speed up work, clear obstacles, and complete deliveries as soon as possible.
Officials said the city has 120,186 housing units, with 59,892 completed and 60,294 under construction, along with essential services and infrastructure projects. The minister examined the delivery timetable and the progress of ongoing delivery cases, inspecting two fully finished model units and praising the quality of interior finishing.
