Higher Education Ministry Engages with UNDP to Enhance Research Collaboration

Cairo: New Administrative Capital: Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Abdel Aziz Konsowa affirmed on Thursday Egypt's appreciation for its fruitful cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), stressing the state's keenness to strengthen strategic partnership frameworks with the program in support of sustainable development goals and achieve the objectives of Egypt Vision 2030.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the minister made his remarks during his meeting with UNDP regional representative Chitose Noguchi, in the presence of Assistant Minister for International Cooperation Salma Yousri at the ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. Abdelaziz highlighted the program's role in supporting institutional capacity-building projects, fostering innovation, and transferring international expertise.

He underlined the importance of enhancing integration between the research system and various industrial sectors, as well as strengthening cooperation with relevant ministries and entities to direct research outcomes toward meeting national economic needs and generating real added value.

Noguchi welcomed cooperation with the Egyptian government in developing the research system, particularly in enhancing the applied nature of research and linking it to priority development challenges. She noted that UNDP provides technical support, capacity building, and the transfer of international best practices to help convert research outputs into practical, implementable innovative solutions.
