Higher Education Minister Engages in Academic Collaboration with University of Bonn

New capital: Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Abdelaziz Konsowa met with President of Germany's University of Bonn and head of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation Michael Hoch at the ministry's headquarters in the New Capital. During the meeting, Konsowa highlighted the depth of Egyptian-German relations, noting that cooperation between the two countries represents a successful model for international partnerships in higher education, scientific research, and innovation.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting was attended by Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the German University in Cairo (GUC) and the German International University (GIU) Ashraf Mansour, GUC President Yasser Hegazy, Assistant Minister for International Cooperation Salma Yousry, and GIU Administrative Director Yomna El Shazly. Konsowa pointed out that Egypt's higher education system is witnessing qualitative progress supported by a vision aimed at enhancing the global competitiveness of Egyptian universities. He affirmed that the ministry is working to build a modern education system based on innovation and knowledge through developing academic programs and expanding international partnerships in line with future requirements.

Hoch expressed his satisfaction with ongoing cooperation with Egypt, stressing the University of Bonn's keenness to deepen partnerships with Egyptian academic institutions and support joint initiatives in education and scientific research. He also voiced aspiration to expand cooperation in a way that enhances expertise exchange, supports innovation, and achieves added value for both sides, with a focus on supporting young researchers and strengthening basic research as a pillar for long-term innovation.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to prepare a joint action plan during the coming period, including identifying research priorities, studying mechanisms for applying international research excellence models, and activating joint research projects. This initiative aims to deepen scientific cooperation and support efforts to build a knowledge-based economy in Egypt.
