Cairo: Security forces were deployed on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, around polling stations and major transport hubs ahead of the second and final day of voting in the first phase of Egypt's 2025 parliamentary election, which covers 14 governorates.According to State Information Service Egypt, police conducted security sweeps around polling stations and on key roads leading to them, while officers increased their presence at metro and railway stations and taxi hubs to facilitate voter access, as reported by state news agency MENA.Senior security officials toured forces in the 14 governorates to ensure readiness and instructed personnel to treat voters respectfully, particularly the elderly and people with disabilities, in line with Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfik's directives.National Election Authority's Ahmed Bendari said the first phase includes 14 governorates - among them Giza, Alexandria, Beheira, and Minya - comprising thousands of subcommittees and tens of millions of eligible voters. Polling s tations open at 9 a.m. local time for the second and final day of voting in this phase.
