Cairo: As part of the official visit of President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier to Egypt, Dr. Abdel Aziz El-Sherif, Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service (ESC), engaged in a significant meeting organized by the German Embassy. This meeting, held on Sunday, November 2, 2025, was attended by representatives from the Office of the German Federal President, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK), along with a number of German officials and investors.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Dr. Abdel Aziz El-Sherif reviewed the economic, trade, and investment relations between Egypt and Germany, showcasing the Egyptian government’s current strategy to attract foreign investment. He emphasized the wide-ranging economic, legislative, and structural reforms implemented by Egypt, which have contributed to enhancing macroeconomic stability and improving the business climate, establishing Egypt as one of the most appealing investment destinations in the region.
El-Sherif highlighted that German investments in Egypt have surpassed $3 billion, with over 1,000 German companies operating in sectors such as manufacturing, energy, communications, and transportation. Notable success stories include the German Bosch Group’s factory inauguration in 10th of Ramadan City, with investments around $64 million dedicated to producing household gas appliances. Half of the production from this factory is exported to African and Middle Eastern markets.
El-Sherif further elaborated on the positive economic indicators in Egypt. He addressed the delegation about the nation’s competitive advantages for investors, including low production costs, a skilled and economically efficient workforce, and a comprehensive network of free trade agreements. These agreements provide direct access to markets in the European Union, Africa, and the Middle East, along with a broad spectrum of investment incentives offered by the Egyptian government.
Concluding the meeting, Dr. Abdel Aziz El-Sherif invited German business leaders to expand their investments in Egypt, capitalizing on its strategic location as a trade gateway between Europe and Africa. He assured the readiness of the Egyptian Commercial Representation to offer all necessary support and facilitation for the seamless operation of German companies in the Egyptian market.
