Libreville: Egypt’s Ambassador to Gabon, Reham Ammar, stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Expatriates is committed to sustaining communication with Egyptian expatriates, fostering their connection to their homeland through various initiatives.
According to State Information Service Egypt, these initiatives are intended to provide expats with the services they need, promote their awareness, and preserve Egyptian identity. The Egyptian diplomat added this during a meeting with members of the Egyptian expat community in Gabon, in the presence of representatives from Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and the Coptic Orthodox Church in the African country, the foreign ministry said in a statement.
Speaking about ongoing arrangements for the upcoming House of Representatives election, set for next month, Ammar said the Egyptian embassy in Libreville is ready to provide any facilitations needed to enable expats to exercise their constitutional right to vote.
She also welcomed their active participation i
n the embassy’s events and activities over the period ahead.
Ambassador Ammar announced that the embassy’s emergency and central hotlines are now operational, emphasizing the commitment to sharing all relevant information on the embassy’s official Facebook page.
The ambassador encouraged Egyptian expatriates to adhere to local laws and avoid being deceived by fraudulent employment contracts.
The meeting witnessed an open dialogue, during which the ambassador listened to the expats’ views and the problems facing some of them.
