Foreign Ministry Intensifies Efforts to Serve Egyptians Abroad, Streamline Services

Cairo: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates said on Wednesday February 25, 2026 it continues to closely monitor the affairs of Egyptians living abroad, maintaining active communication through multiple channels. The Ministry remains committed to listening to their needs, addressing concerns and gathering feedback to enhance services and policies. All efforts are part of a comprehensive government approach, with all relevant State agencies coordinating to ensure rapid responses to requests and complaints.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the initiative reflects directives from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, expressing full support for Egyptians abroad, strengthening their ties with the homeland, facilitating transactions, and responding effectively to their aspirations. The Ministry routinely follows up on issues raised by Egyptians abroad, including public services, administrative procedures, professional relations with Egyptian institutions, higher education and scholarship programs. Coordination with relevant authorities ensures procedures are streamlined, challenges are addressed and new initiatives or enhancements to existing programs are being implemented.

The Ministry announced that Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty instructed ambassador Nabil Habashi, Deputy Foreign Minister for Egyptian Expatriates Affairs to oversee the precise implementation of initiatives launched over the past year in cooperation with other ministries. The instructions also include resolving challenges encountered by Egyptians abroad and exploring additional phases of key programs, including: "Your Home in Egypt", supporting housing and real estate for Egyptians abroad. "Open Your Account in Egypt", enabling Egyptians abroad to open accounts in national banks through certified documents at diplomatic and consular missions. "Your Farm in Egypt", providing investment opportunities in newly developed agricultural areas. "Your Insurance in Egypt", expanding insurance benefits available to Egyptians abroad.

The minister further directed rapid rollout of additional initiatives, in full coordination with relevant agencies, including: "Updating Bank Data from Abroad". "Your School in Egypt", offering interactive remote classrooms for Egyptian curricula and promoting national identity among children abroad. "Your University in Egypt", providing high-quality, affordable higher education opportunities, particularly in fields with limited capacity in public universities.

Abdelatty also called for thorough preparations for the seventh Egyptians Abroad Conference, scheduled for August 2-3, 2026, under the auspices of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli. The conference will feature sessions and workshops addressing the concerns, challenges, and aspirations of Egyptians abroad, with participation from ministers and senior officials, aiming to produce practical recommendations and solutions for this important segment of the population.

The minister stressed that all ministry sectors and missions abroad must continue facilitating services for Egyptians, ensuring courteous and efficient handling of consular transactions. Efforts will also focus on advancing digital consular services and maintaining close oversight of Egyptian communities abroad, he said. Prompt resolution of complaints and concerns remains a priority, reflecting the ministry's commitment to providing professional and effective support to Egyptians worldwide, he concluded.
