Cairo: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates marks Egyptian Diplomacy Day on March 15 each year, a commemoration through which the ministry recalls the dedicated national roles played by the long-standing institution during key stages of Egypt's history over nearly two centuries.According to State Information Service Egypt, the Foreign Ministry has played a prominent role in serving Egypt's national interests, with Egyptian diplomats contributing over decades to negotiating numerous international frameworks and agreements. They also played a significant role in drafting the United Nations Charter and in establishing both the League of Arab States and the Organization of African Unity, reflecting a deeply rooted tradition of national service aimed at strengthening Egypt's standing internationally.As part of the celebrations, the ministry has launched a series of documentary films reviewing the professional and national journeys of prominent figures in Egyptian diplomacy who left notable marks on the country's diplomatic history and contributed to defending national interests in regional and international forums. The initiative aims to document Egypt's diplomatic history, honor its distinguished figures and highlight their contributions in service of the nation, underscoring the continuity of Egypt's long-established diplomatic tradition and its key role in safeguarding national interests and enhancing the country's regional and global standing.It also reflects the Egyptian state's commitment, under the leadership of Abdel Fattah El Sisi, to developing diplomatic tools and strengthening Egypt's active presence on the international stage in line with the country's historical weight, strategic position, and leading role in supporting regional and international stability. The first documentary film features testimonies from six former foreign ministers on Egyptian Diplomacy Day and the prominent national role played by the historic institution at various stages of Eg ypt's history.
