Cairo: Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology have signed a cooperation protocol to launch document authentication services through the National Postal Authority. The partnership will allow citizens to obtain authentication services at post offices nationwide. The protocol aims to delegate the process to the postal authority to reduce wait times, improve efficiency, and provide a smoother experience for the public.
According to State Information Service Egypt, under the new system, beneficiaries can choose to receive their authenticated documents at the nearest post office or have them delivered to their workplace or residence. The two ministries committed to gradually expanding the service to include all post offices across the country’s governorates.
Joint efforts are underway to address implementation challenges, including staff training workshops and regular coordination meetings to monitor the development of authentication mechanisms. Additionally, mobile post vehicles will be stationed near main authentication offices to reduce congestion and speed up service delivery as part of the government’s digital transformation initiative.
