Foreign Minister and US Presidential Advisor Discuss Escalation in Lebanon

Cairo: Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor to the U.S. President for Arab and African Affairs, engaged in a phone conversation on Friday to discuss the developments in Lebanon and the rising regional military tensions. Abdelatty expressed strong condemnation of Israel's repeated attacks, labeling them as blatant violations of Lebanese sovereignty and a breach of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty underscored Egypt's staunch opposition to any actions that compromise Lebanon's territorial integrity or endanger its citizens. He pointed out that such aggressions threaten to destabilize the region. The Minister reiterated Egypt's dedication to supporting Lebanese state institutions and the army to ensure authority over the entire national territory.

Abdelatty also highlighted Egypt's ongoing efforts to mobilize aid and enhance diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the situation. In response, Boulos commended Egypt's crucial role in mitigating the situation and backing Lebanese institutions. He stressed the significance of sustained coordination between Egypt and the United States in addressing the crisis.
