Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty asserted that prioritizing the Egyptian citizen remains at the forefront of the Egyptian state's agenda. He emphasized the need to modernize consular work mechanisms to keep pace with technological advancements and to meet the expectations of Egyptian communities abroad.According to State Information Service Egypt, this statement was made during a meeting held by the Foreign Minister with the leadership and members of the consular sector as part of the regular follow-up on workflow and discussions on enhancing consular services for citizens both at home and abroad. The meeting also reflects the ministry's ongoing engagement with its various departments.Abdelatty emphasized the state's focus on enhancing the consular service system, whether through Egyptian embassies and consulates overseas or via the ministry's authentication offices domestically. He added that achieving this goal requires continued coordination with al l relevant ministries and national entities to streamline procedures and deliver high-quality services characterized by efficiency, speed, and transparency.He stressed the importance of accelerating the digital transformation of consular services and expanding the use of online platforms to facilitate remote access to services. He said that this would enhance operational efficiency, ensure effective communication with citizens, and save time.Abdelatty pointed to new initiatives underway, such as the current collaboration with the National Postal Authority to allow document authentication through post offices and digital platforms. Meanwhile, he issued directives to open new authentication offices in several governorates, including Damietta, Suez, Fayoum, the Red Sea, Sharqia, and Kafr El Sheikh.
