Paris: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptians Abroad Badr Abdelatty has underscored the need for uniting the efforts of Egyptians, both at home and abroad, to support and defend Egypt’s interests and bolster the national economy.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the Minister’s remarks came during a meeting with members of the Egyptian community in Paris. This meeting was part of his current visit to Paris to lead Egypt’s delegation at the Executive Board meetings of the UNESCO, which are scheduled for Monday. During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the significant challenges facing the region and the efforts Egypt is making to protect its national security and maintain its stability and security.
Abdelatty emphasized the ministry’s commitment to engaging with Egyptians abroad, highlighting the importance of providing full care and necessary attention to citizens living abroad. This includes offering consular services and supporting the Egyptian communities, as well as strengthening their ties with their homeland. The Minister also acknowledged the role of the Egyptian community in France in enhancing relations between Egypt and France.
The minister informed the community members in France about the ministry’s ongoing efforts to promote digital transformation and improve consular services for Egyptians abroad, aiming to enhance the quality of consular services. He also outlined various initiatives launched in recent months in collaboration with other state institutions to serve Egyptians abroad.
He reviewed the outcomes of the 6th Conference of Egyptians Abroad, which was held in Cairo in August 2025, and the initiatives launched during the conference. He emphasized the importance of continued participation by Egyptians worldwide in future editions of the conference, including the 7th edition in 2026.
The Minister also emphasized the importance of Egyptian expats’ participation in the upcoming national elections, aligning with the values of citizenship and the exercise of their constitutional rights. The community members expressed their appreciation for the wisdom of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in maintaining the country’s security and stability amid the unprecedented regional challenges that Egypt has faced in recent years.
