Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a series of phone calls on Monday, March 2, 2026, with the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, and the UAE. During the phone conversations, Abdelatty reviewed the rapidly escalating developments in the region and the ongoing attacks against sisterly Arab countries.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty also had similar contacts with the deputy prime ministers and foreign ministers of Jordan and Iraq. The foreign minister reaffirmed Egypt's full solidarity with sisterly Arab nations and its support for their sovereignty, security, stability, and territorial integrity. He condemned the unacceptable and unjustified attacks on these countries, calling on Tehran to immediately cease targeting Arab countries.
Abdelatty emphasized the urgent need to reduce tension to prevent the entire region from sliding into total chaos. He urged all parties to exercise maximum self-restraint and prioritize dialogue, political solutions, and diplomacy. During the calls, Abdelatty underscored the importance of respecting state sovereignty and adhering to the principles of international law and the UN Charter. He stressed that such commitment is essential to containing the current dangerous situation and preventing further confrontation and escalation across the region.
