FM Monitors Expats’ Safety Amid Regional Tensions

The ministry of foreign affairs:he Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, under directives from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, is closely monitoring the situation of Egyptian citizens in the region to ensure their safety amid escalating conflicts. Minister Badr Abdelatty on Monday, March 2, 2026, held consultations with Egyptian ambassadors across the region to receive detailed updates on the conditions of citizens, including those stranded abroad for tourism or medical purposes.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the ministry instructed Egyptian embassies to maintain continuous monitoring of nationals around the clock, strengthen direct communication channels through hotlines, and provide all necessary consular assistance and support until safe repatriation is facilitated. The minister also checked on the health of several citizens who had sustained minor injuries, confirming that they had received medical treatment and were discharged after recovery.

The ministry renewed its appeal to Egyptian communities in the region to exercise caution, stay in constant contact with local embassies and consulates, and comply with all instructions issued by the authorities of their host countries.
