FM Highlights Role of Parliamentary Diplomacy in Supporting Egyptian Principles


Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Badr Abdelatty emphasized the significance of parliamentary diplomacy, acknowledging the vital role Egyptian diplomacy plays in upholding Egypt’s principles and enhancing cooperative and friendly ties with parliaments globally. The minister articulated these thoughts during a meeting with Senate Speaker Essam el Din Farid.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty expressed his commitment to ongoing coordination with Senate members concerning recommendations from various specialized committees and consular requests. He reiterated the ministry’s dedication to providing top-tier services to Egyptian citizens and underscored the necessity for continued close collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Senate. This partnership aims to bolster Egypt’s efforts across diverse sectors and advance the nation’s objectives and interests. Abdelatty highlighted the importance of strengthening ties with both th
e Senate and the House of Representatives to facilitate discussions on Egypt’s foreign policy, regional challenges, and critical issues affecting Egyptians abroad.

Abdelatty also underscored the importance of supporting the nation’s development and economic growth. He reviewed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ initiatives, in conjunction with its missions abroad, to ensure the participation of Egyptians living overseas in electoral processes, aligning with the National Elections Authority. The minister reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to enabling citizens abroad to exercise their constitutional right to vote. Additionally, Abdelatty presented the Senate Speaker with a copy of the book “Strategic Balance: Features of Egypt’s Foreign Policy over Ten Years,” published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The book discusses the strategic balance concept introduced by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, serving as the guiding framework for Egypt’s foreign policy.
