FM Engages with Saudi, Jordanian, Turkish Counterparts on Gaza and Sudan Developments


Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty recently engaged in phone conversations with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to address the latest developments in Gaza and Sudan.



According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty focused on Egypt’s ongoing efforts to uphold the Sharm El-Sheikh peace agreement concerning Gaza. He emphasized the importance of fully implementing all provisions of the agreement to end the war and alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinian people. Furthermore, he highlighted the need to advance to the second phase of US President Donald Trump’s peace plan, which includes political, development, and humanitarian aspects.



The foreign minister also discussed Egypt’s preparations for an international conference on Gaza’s reconstruction, early recovery, and development, planned to be held in Cairo in November. He described the conference as vital for mobilizing international support for rebuilding Gaza and achieving stability.



On the situation in Sudan, Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s steadfast support for the country’s unity, stability, and national institutions. He underscored Egypt’s involvement in the Quartet Mechanism on Sudan to support ceasefire efforts and national reconciliation. Abdelatty stressed the importance of regional and international coordination to achieve a comprehensive humanitarian truce, facilitating a political process and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid and relief throughout Sudan.



The foreign minister condemned recent violations in El-Fasher city and called for their immediate cessation. He reiterated Egypt’s commitment to continuing humanitarian and relief support to the Sudanese people.
