Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty affirmed that the Egyptian government is operating round the clock to address the repercussions of the current crisis, following political leadership directives to monitor the situation and mitigate its economic and humanitarian impacts. This announcement was made during a press conference held Tuesday by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, which was attended by several ministers to clarify the latest global and local developments to the public.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the foreign minister explained that he manages the international engagement file under presidential directives and in coordination with the prime minister. This involves collaboration with international partners, friendly nations, and global financing institutions such as the United States, the European Union, the World Bank, the Islamic Development Bank, the African Development Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Abdelatty noted that communications are ongoing with these institutions to accelerate the implementation of reached agreements and stimulate the provision of concessional financing to support the state budget. This initiative aims to help Egypt tackle the economic repercussions of the crisis, particularly in relation to global price hikes, while ensuring the stability of the Egyptian economy.
