Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty emphasized the significance of unified efforts to reduce regional tensions, reaffirming Egypt's complete support and proactive involvement in initiatives aimed at achieving peace and ending ongoing conflicts.According to State Information Service Egypt, in a series of phone conversations with several foreign ministers, Abdelatty highlighted Egypt's dedication to fostering dialogue and diplomacy to enhance security and stability both regionally and globally. The discussions were part of a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates.The minister engaged in talks with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidier, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan Ishaq Dar, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, Cypriot Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos, and US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff.Foreign Ministry spokesman Tamim Khalaf stated that these extensive communications underscore Egypt's commitment to ongoing coordination and consultations with Arab allies and international partners. This initiative aims to manage rapidly developing security issues and explore solutions to curtail ongoing military escalations, which pose risks of destabilizing the region.Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's condemnation of Iranian attacks on Gulf Arab states, denouncing any justification for such actions and urging their immediate cessation, according to the spokesman.The dialogues also covered possible negotiations between Iran and the US, considering a recent initiative by US President Donald Trump. Abdelatty emphasized the importance of diplomatic avenues, supported by regional actors including Egypt, as essential to preventing a wider conflict.
