FM Engages in Dialogue with Omani Counterpart and IAEA Chief on Regional De-escalation

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates Affairs Badr Abdelatty engaged in a telephone conversation with Omani Foreign Minister Badr al Busaidi, highlighting ongoing consultation and coordination between the two nations. During the call, discussions centered on regional de-escalation efforts and the recent negotiations held in Muscat between the US and Iran.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Busaidi provided Abdelatty with updates on the progress of these negotiations. Abdelatty expressed appreciation for Oman's role in facilitating these discussions and reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to reducing regional tensions. The Omani Foreign Minister acknowledged Egypt's recent diplomatic efforts, noting their contribution to bridging viewpoints and advancing negotiations.

Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's support for initiatives aimed at achieving a consensus on the Iranian nuclear issue, underscoring the need to build on current progress to ensure regional security. Meanwhile, Abdelatty also held a phone conversation with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, discussing developments concerning the Iranian nuclear file. He emphasized Egypt's dedication to diplomatic solutions that bolster both regional and international security and stability.
