Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said that Egypt and Namibia enjoy long-standing historical relations dating back to Namibia’s independence, and stressed Egypt’s interest in expanding bilateral cooperation in political, economic, and development fields.
According to State Information Service Egypt, during his meeting with Namibian Minister of International Relations and Trade Ashipala-Musavyi, Abdelatty discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in infrastructure, energy, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, maritime transport, and food security.
He expressed Egypt’s readiness to support Namibia’s development priorities through Egyptian expertise and private-sector participation, including in dam construction, power generation, water management, and agricultural development.
The minister also pointed to opportunities to increase Egyptian pharmaceutical exports to Namibia, expand cooperation in maritime transport and ports, and build on long-standing agricultural cooperation through Egyptian experts working in Namibia.
The two sides exchanged views on regional stability in Africa and agreed to maintain close coordination at bilateral and multilateral levels to support development and security across the continent.
