FM Affirms Egypt’s Support for Comoros Development


Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said that Egypt and the Union of the Comoros share deep, long-standing relations, underscoring Cairo’s commitment to strengthening cooperation across key development sectors.



According to State Information Service Egypt, these remarks came during Abdelatty’s meeting with Comorian Foreign Minister Mbae Mohamed on the sidelines of the Russia-Africa ministerial conference. Abdelatty discussed expanding bilateral ties in education, health, infrastructure, energy, and construction.



He also stressed the importance of increasing Egyptian investments in Comoros, particularly in infrastructure and renewable energy. Additionally, the top diplomat said that Egypt stands ready to support Comoros’ development priorities through expertise sharing, capacity-building programs, and training initiatives, in addition to educational scholarships.



The two ministers agreed to continue close coordination at the African Union, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the United Nations in support of stability and sustainable development in Africa.
