Ljubljana: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's steadfast position on the Palestinian issue, emphasizing full support for the Palestinian people and their inalienable rights, including the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state along the June 4, 1967 lines, with Al Quds (occupied East Jerusalem) as its capital.According to State Information Service Egypt, the statements came during Abdelatty's participation in the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee meeting on Gaza, held in Ljubljana, Slovenia, at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia Tanja Fajon. The meeting was attended by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, and Qatari Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi.Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Tamim Khallaf stated that Abdelatty expressed appreciation for Slovenia's support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights, including recognition of the State of Palestine and consistent stances in international forums. Abdelatty highlighted the importance of preserving the territorial unity of Palestinian lands, ensuring geographic and demographic continuity between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and rejecting any attempts to divide or isolate Gaza from the rest of Palestinian territories.He emphasized the need to complete the necessary steps for implementing the second phase of the US President Donald Trump's plan, praising the US president's efforts and commitment toward ending the Gaza conflict and achieving peace and stability in the region. Abdelatty endorsed the comprehensive US plan to resolve the Gaza conflict and UN Security Council Resolution 2803, which includes transitional arrangements for Gaza's administration.Abdelatty confirmed Egypt's full support for the National Commit tee for Gaza Administration (NCAG), headed by Ali Shaath, highlighting its critical role in managing daily affairs and meeting the basic needs of Gaza's residents during the transitional phase. He stressed the importance of sustaining humanitarian aid and relief flows to Gaza and the deployment of an international stabilization force to monitor the ceasefire.He reiterated that addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza should go hand in hand with tackling the core Palestinian issue comprehensively, underlining that sustainable peace can only be achieved by addressing the root causes of the conflict. Abdelatty asserted that Egypt remains committed to constructive engagement with all regional and international partners to reach a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue.The spokesperson added that Abdelatty also addressed wider regional developments, stressing the importance of de-escalating tensions in the region, particularly with regard to Iran. He emphasized the importance of a peaceful, consensual resolution between the US and Iran that addresses all parties' concerns on the basis of mutual respect and shared interest, helping to avert the threat of war in the region.
