Cairo: Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk affirmed that voluntary expansion of the tax base creates a significant and impactful opportunity to incentivize investment and increase spending on health, education, and social protection. During a discussion with the head and members of the General Federation of Tourist Chambers, Kouchouk emphasized the benefits of a growing economy and a thriving business community within a robust framework of trust and partnership.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the minister highlighted that the initiatives being considered are deeply rooted in the needs and perspectives of the business community. Kouchouk explained that the goal is to address tax challenges through practical and straightforward solutions, thereby encouraging a more conducive environment for growth and investment.
Furthermore, Ahmed Kouchouk elaborated on the second package of tax incentives, which is designed to offer additional incentives, simplification, and facilitation to longstanding and committed partners. A notable development is the introduction of premium tax services through the company "eTax," which marks a first in offering certain tax services in an enhanced manner.
The minister also pointed out the indefinite continuation of a simplified and integrated tax system, which includes diverse and unprecedented incentives aimed at attracting new taxpayers voluntarily. He stressed the introduction of a simplified tax system for projects with revenues not exceeding 20 million pounds, highlighting the government's commitment to fostering a favorable business environment.
