European Leaders Convene for Key Summits and Meetings in Brussels


Brussels: The city is set to host significant gatherings on 22 October 2025, including meetings with the Presidents of the European Committee of the Regions and the European Economic and Social Committee, the Tripartite Social Summit, and the EU-Egypt Summit. Leaders and officials will engage in discussions that are expected to shape regional and international policies.



According to EMM, the day will begin with a meeting featuring President of the European Council, António Costa, who will officially welcome Kata Ttto, President of the European Committee of the Regions, and Oliver Röpke along with incoming President Séamus Boland of the European Economic and Social Committee. This event offers a photo opportunity for attending media.



Later in the day, the Tripartite Social Summit will commence, gathering key figures such as António Costa, Roxana Mînzatu, European Commission’s Executive Vice-President for Social Rights and Skills, Quality Jobs and Preparedness, Markus Beyrer, Director General of BusinessEurope, and Esther Lynch, General Secretary of ETUC. A press conference is scheduled for approximately 17:05 in the Justus Lipsius building press room, with live streaming available.



The EU-Egypt Summit will follow, marked by an official welcome and live streaming. This summit will conclude with press statements around 19:40 in the Europa building press room. Addressing the press will be António Costa, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, and Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of Egypt.
