ERC: 146th ‘Zad Al-Ezza’ Convoy Carries 5,600 Tons of Humanitarian Aid

Cairo: The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) announced on Wednesday February 25, 2026 that the 146th convoy of the 'Zad Al-Ezza. From Egypt to Gaza' initiative departed carrying urgent humanitarian aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. This effort is part of the organization's ongoing role as a national mechanism for coordinating aid to the strip.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the convoy includes 5,600 tons of comprehensive humanitarian supplies, comprising food baskets, flour, medical and relief materials, personal care items, and tons of petroleum products to operate hospitals and vital facilities, addressing urgent needs within Gaza.

In response to severe winter conditions affecting the population, the Red Crescent bolstered winter relief supplies, including approximately 1,250 winter clothing items, 8,230 blankets, over 920 mattresses, around 6,915 tarpaulins, and 540 tents to shelter affected families, as part of Egypt's sustained support for Palestinians in Gaza.

The organization continues its humanitarian efforts on the Egyptian side of the Rafah Crossing, facilitating the 19th group of Palestinian wounded, patients, and injured individuals, assisting them in completing border-crossing procedures.

The Red Crescent also provides a comprehensive package of services to Palestinians, including psychological support for children, family reunification services, distribution of Suhoor and Iftar meals, provision of warm clothing and personal care items, and distribution of 'Return Kits' for those returning to Gaza.

The ERC maintained continued presence along the border since the onset of the crisis, keeping the Rafah crossing open on the Egyptian side and sustaining readiness across all logistical centers.

Its efforts facilitated the delivery of over 800,000 tons of humanitarian and relief aid, supported by more than 65,000 volunteers.
