Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi commended the plans of US oil giant Apache to expand its operations in Egypt. Sisi expressed his support during a meeting with Apache CEO John Christmann, attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi, and Apache’s Vice President and Country Manager in Egypt Greg McDaniel, according to Presidential Spokesman Mohamed El Shennawy. The president highlighted Apache’s significant role as a partner in Egypt’s oil and gas sectors, emphasizing the positive impact of Egyptian-US cooperation and its encouragement of further American investments in Egypt’s energy industry.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting focused on Apache’s operations in Egypt and its plans to expand oil and gas research, exploration, and production activities. Apache CEO John Christmann expressed his gratitude for meeting President Sisi again and emphasized the company’s eagerness to enhance its operations and boost production in light of promising opportunities for new discoveries.
During the meeting, President Sisi was briefed on the progress of Apache’s exploration program in newly awarded concession areas in the Western Desert. He reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to providing all necessary support and facilitation to Apache, ensuring that the mutual interests of both sides are served effectively.
